SAINT GABRIEL MARRIAGE MINISTRY

The Marriage Ministry welcomes all couples from dating couples to the newly engaged to the been-married-for-a-while couples who are interested in strengthening their marriage and getting to know other couples in the Parish. 

In conjunction with the Knights of Columbus, we host an Annual Christian Marriage and Prayer Dinner, usually in early February.

Marriage Ministry Volunteer Opportunities
 

Annual Marriage Retreat 

Are you interested in starting an annual marriage retreat at El Tesoro Retreat Center for St. Gabriel couples?   We need volunteers to help coordinate this kind of retreat including the program and food.  

Hosting Monthly Date Nights

We need couples to host monthly Date Nights (with childcare provided free of charge) with various activities to help us become the "true" domestic church and learn about God's plan for the sacrament of marriage.

 

FOCCUS Couples

Do you have a heart for walking with engaged couples as they prepare for the sacrament of marriage?  St. Gabriel’s Marriage Ministry needs more married couples to become FOCCUS couples to assist the staff and engaged couples with marriage preparation.  FOCCUS stands for Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding & Study.  After an engaged couple takes the FOCCUS Pre-Marriage Inventory, a FOCCUS couple will be assigned to meet with the couple to review the results of the inventory.  The first and most basic role of the FOCCUS couple is to facilitate the communication of the engaged couple.  Sometimes a FOCCUS couple may also have a teaching and/or referral role.  Training and a FOCCUS Facilitator Manual are provided.

Whether you are preparing for marriage, trying to achieve a pregnancy, want to know how to navigate post-partum times, or pre-menopause, you can find support right here in the parish and be referred to other resources when necessary.  Couple to Couple League’s mission is to inspire, educate and support couples in family planning that is natural, effective, healthy, and consistent with God’s plan for life, love, and marriage.
